National Minimum Wage 2020 rates will increase on 1 April 2020.
- Apprentice rates increase from £3.90 to £4.15
- Under 18’s rates increase from £4.35 to £4.55
- 18-20 year olds rates increase from £6.15 to £6.45
- 21-25 year olds rates increase from £7.70 to £8.20
Along with the National Minimum Wage 2020 increase other statutory rates will also increase.
The National Living Wage (for over 25 year olds) will increase from £8.21 to £8.72.
Proposed rates for statutory pay;
Maternity, adoption, paternity and shared parental pay – £151.20 per week (or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings if this figure is less than the statutory rate). This increase usually take place the first Sunday April which in 2020 is 5 April.
Statutory sick pay is expected to increase on 6 April 2020. The proposed new rate is £95.85.
Redundancy pay The cap on the maximum amount of a week’s pay for calculating redundancy pay will increase to £538.00 from 6 April 2020. The government redundancy pay calculator can found here
