People are apparently more happy at work than they were six months ago! Great headline…but that doesn’t tell us the whole story….
According to the CIPD Employee Outlook for Autumn 2016, reported employee satisfaction has increased. However it’s still lower than it was this time last year.
At the same time the survey reports that a large % of employees do not feel happy that their managers are good at coaching, keep them up to date with what is going on in the business or at discussing training and development needs with them.
Less than half of employees have received any type of learning and development in the last 12 months.
Nearly 50% of employees do not feel confident that they could disclose unmanageable stress levels or mental health problems to their manager. With 38% of employees reporting that they are under excessive pressure at least once a week and a third of employees saying they come home from work exhausted, that’s a worrying statistic which doesn’t make anyone happy.
So what are you doing in your business to ensure your employees are happy, satisfied, engaged, motivated and fit for work?
