At vivoHR we have been working with one of our legal clients on a monthly retained basis for about a year and a half. They’ve got a brilliant team and continue to recruit. We’ve been helping support them from the very outset including onboarding and then helping them to develop and progress within the team. vivoHR take on the people management of the Firm to help support the Director and Ops Manager to allow them to focus on the business.

Each month, we catch up with their staff 1-on-1, which has been a game changer for the Firm. These professional but informal meetings give everyone a chance to talk openly about how things are going, flag any concerns early, track billing targets, and keep motivation and morale high. It’s helped the team stay connected, transparent and focused, especially during busy periods.

We have also been writing and updating their internal policies as and when required making sure everything’s clear and legally sound.

We’ve been supporting the Firm with recruitment, onboarding new starters, and making sure the process is smooth, welcoming, and sets the tone for the culture the Director has worked so hard to build. New team members get the right info, support, and introduction into the team, and this provides the Director with peace of mind knowing that new joiners are well looked after and helps build team bonds and sets expectations from the beginning. Working with the Firm’s operation manager ensures cross communication on areas where our work overlaps. This helps to streamline and align people objectives with the Firm’s long-term goals.

Another big part of our work has been managing annual leave, making sure everyone’s taking the time off they’re entitled to, without leaving the team short-staffed or leading to last- minute decisions. We’ve been the go-to for coordinating everything, supporting the Director in her key team development role.

Lastly, we’ve played a part in keeping the team focused on their targets. Whether that’s checking in during 1-1s, helping to set goals, or just being a sounding board when things get a bit hectic – we’re there to help bring things back to the bigger picture.

The partnership between vivoHR and the Firm has been about steady, practical support that they can rely on month after month. We are part of the team and we’re proud to help support them and help them grow.
