National Minimum Wage Election Promises
In the week that the National Minimum Wage increases, it appears that workers’ pay is going to be a hot election topic according to Personnel Today.

David Cameron promises tax cuts that will benefit those on the lowest pay rates, but also promises to increase the threshold for the 40p tax rate benefitting those at the other end of the scale too. Hedging his bets with two sets of voters or a sustainable policy?

Meanwhile Ed Miliband, key advocate of the Living Wage says he will raise the National Minimum Wage to £8 per hour if Labour win the election, and UKIP party leader Nigel Farage states that he will scrap income tax altogether for those on minimum wage.

All good news for low earners it seems… but who will deliver on their promises?
