The Government have produced a useful guide to the changes that came into effect on 16 May regarding the checks employers should carry out when employing new staff to ensure that they are eligible to work in the UK.
Whilst these regulations are concentrated on ensuring that those employing foreign workers have ensured they are eligible to work in the UK, we recommend that good practice is to carry out the checks on all new employees.
