Parental & Carer Rights FAQs

Do I have to give time off for parents and carers?
Yes – you must meet the statutory requirements if employees are eligible. There are different eligibility criteria for each of the family friendly rights.
Can I give more than the statutory amounts?
Yes but ensure you treat all employees fairly and consistently. Have a policy that sets out what you are offering and ensure it is clear about what is paid or not, and if there are any conditions on enhanced leave and pay benefits.
Do I have to pay people their salary when they take parental or career leave?
No – some leave has statutory payment entitlements and some is unpaid Ensure you are clear on what the correct amounts are. You can enhance the statutory payments if you choose to but again be clear if there are any conditions on enhanced leave and pay benefits.
What’s the cost for pay-as-you-go hr support?

Pay-as-you-go support is £120 + VAT per hour. Great for one-off help without a subscription.

What’s the price for phone and email support?

Phone and email support starts from £100 + VAT – ideal for day-to-day questions or quick advice.

Do you offer monthly HR support packages, and what do they cost?

Yes – our monthly retainers start from £217 + VAT. These give you ongoing support with the flexibility of a monthly plan.
