The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has announced that it will be carrying out an investigation into unlawful discrimination in the Metropolitan Police Service (the Met).

This comes on the back of high profile cases such as the recent tribunal that found that the Met had racially & sexually discriminated against and victimised Carol Howard. Carol was a firearms officer whose image was, ironically, used in a photo shot to represent diversity in the police force prior to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
