Yesterday October 1st saw the first day of the new law making it illegal to smoke in private vehicles when carrying anyone under the age of 18 years old.

This includes privately owned vehicles that are used for work purposes when carrying an under 18 passenger.

The driver and person smoking can be subject to a £50 fine.

As an employer you will not be held responsible should an offence occur in a privately owned vehicle.

If you do not have a smoking policy or vehicle use agreement and would like one please get in touch.
