Fancy a 6 hour working day?

Some Scandinavian companies are making a move towards this as the standard working day and they report increases in productivity and employee engagement.

This approach focusses on better work life balance, increasing energy and motivation, improving health and wellbeing and of course maximising productivity and efficiency, streamlining processes and avoiding wasted time or removing unnecessary tasks.

This is not about getting less done but about achieving more in the time available through streamlining processes, avoiding wasted time or removing unnecessary tasks. It means work time needs to be wholly focussed on work – but as the day is shorter it leaves plenty of opportunity to do online shopping, banking & checking Facebook outside of working hours!

Of course it won’t work for all jobs where a physical presence is required but could it work in your business?
