National Minimum Wage Increases come into effect on 1 October 2014. This year sees the biggest increase since 2008 with the adult rate rising by 19p which is a 3% increase.

The rates will be as follows:

Age 21& Over £6.50 ph
Age 18-20 £5.13 ph
Age Under 18 £3.79 ph
Apprentice £2.73 ph

The Apprentice Rate only applies to those aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year of an apprenticeship. Any other apprentice is entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.
