Vodafone have announced a worldwide enhanced maternity benefits policy that will see all women receive full pay for the first 16 weeks of the maternity leave and the chance to work reduced hours for six months on return to work without any loss of pay.

This is all great news of course – but you can bet your life that the bean counters at Vodafone have done the sums & worked out that this way of encouraging mums to return to work is cheaper than replacing skilled & experienced female employees who otherwise might decide not to return to work.

A win win situation? That’s a rare but great thing for us to be reporting!
